On March the first I am flying from MAN to MCO with Virgin Atlantic (Flight VS075) in economy class

I was wondering if anyone knows what Aircraft they use for this route and also what entertainment system will be available.

I have looked for this info On Virgins website with no joy. all i can find is that Certain Entertainment systems are only available on certain routes.

Thankyou

Aircraft should be a B747-400 with individual seat back entertainment system.

Anyone by any chance knows what equipment operates VS026 today?
Was just listening in to the JFK tower ATC feed earlier on and heard it cleared for take-off 31L CRI climb.
Pure curiousity question for those who wondered.

P.S. I would assume being an LHR flight it would have to be an A346? Found no confirmation though...

wrong assumption :ooh:

That flight would have been an A346. :ok:

I know this has been asked before but I can’t find the thread. How do I find out which particular A321 aircraft operated US1495 22 November 2006 CLT-LAX?

ZFT,

I can only find the LGW-CLT part of the flight which as US1495 was operated by N272AY, an A330.

Tried the usual sites but still only giving that aircraft. Does anyone know if the CLT-LAX part uses a different callsign?

yellowdog,

Interesting as US1495 sector I was on from CLT-LAX was definitely an A321.

Out of interest, what are ‘these usual sites’ you refer to?

There are two sites I use,

both should be fairly self explanatory.

Just heard that bmi are to wet-lease the 3rd 330 to Air India as from 15th December. Doesn't say which route it's on yet but they are looking for crews to spend Christmas and New Year somewhere in India! Guess they'll send the white one out there as that could be re-logoed most easily. Is this the return of the Instant Airline of long ago (707 s in the eighties)??

Mr @ Spotty M
29th Nov 2006, 17:39
Which one is the all white one?
I know it is not going to be the one on repair that is going, so they will be very short on longhaul capacity for a week or two.:ok:

wingattack
29th Nov 2006, 18:18
BM, the one being repaired will be ready by then. I imagine they'll put it on the Chicago or Vegas/Carribbean route and then put the Star Alliance one on the Air India contract. It'll be much easier to peel off the stickers from G-WWBD and put on some from AI.
http://www1.airliners.net/open.file/1136818/L/
So, as long as the repairs are complete, we'll be up on capacity by a third. 3x330 s and 1x767.

Can anyone tell me what aircraft My Travel will use this Friday 12/01/2007 to Salvador? The MYT staff said that they keep alternating the aircraft between the A332's and the B763's. Every picture I've seen so far during the summer with MYT to SSA has been an A332 but a friend went a couple of weeks ago and by her description it sounded like it was a 763 as their were no PTV's in premium.

I soooo hope it's an A332 if not for the sake of having the PTV's then for a nicer and newer aircraft. I believe the 763's also have the external viewing camera though which is quite neat.

Does anyone also know if the 767's have been refurbed at any time in the recent past. Any good comments to make about it? All I've heard reported so far is pretty much to do with cramped seats and old aircraft.

Sorry for the rather random looking title, but was wondering if anyone knows what aircraft type will be operating the TOM5691 on 27 Jan ?

Our travel agent has assured my husband that it is definitely a Boeing 737-200 which has just confirmed my opinion that travel agents very often have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

I've looked all over the Thomson website and can't find anywhere what aircraft type it is.

Anyone know who is operating the Beech King 200s that seem to be flying around UK regional airports recently.

They operate with a "GPO..." flight number but don't have any regs.

Does GPO mean it is for Royal Mail???

That would be our very own Northern Aviation based at MME! They operate 2 Beech 200's, G-ONAL which uses the GPO "Goosepool" callsign and G-TAGH which I think may be on loan to them therefore not using GPO.

The aircraft was delivered from Shannon to Coventry some time today the aircraft could be Coventry as it,s base for now.

This could mean the departure of a B737 500 to greener pastures.

I noticed a flight plan for an LH A319 from Gander to Liverpool on Saturday, arriving early afternoon. Any idea what this was as I couldn't see a flight out to anywhere.

Considering the Low Vis conditions affecting the North West, might the above aircraft have diverted to MAN and become the Privatair A319 aircraft which flew to DUS?

Even so, what's the deal?

Curious Pax
4th Feb 2007, 11:22
For some reason the regular Lufthansa all-business flight from the US to Dusseldorf (not sure if it was the ORD or EWR flight) was planned to stop en route for a crew change in LPL. Due to weather there it did indeed divert to MAN. The flight is operated by Privatair on Lufthansa's behalf with a 319, in this case D-APAC.

AlphaWhiskyRomeo
4th Feb 2007, 17:09
Thought it might be something like that.

But it still confuses me that it flew from Gander, rather than ORD or EWR and that it uses LPL rather than MAN, a regular LH diversion/tech stop airport as well as LH serving it.

Maybe they had a particularly high payload or strong winds en route? Or maybe a tech or medical issue forced a stop at Gander?

Ringwayman
4th Feb 2007, 17:18
Does Privatair have an aircraft at Chester over the weekend? If they do, presumably the crew will be at an hotel nearby and therefore it might be quicker for them to position to Liverpool rather than Manchester, with the transatlantic crew doing whatever duties the Chester aircraft has planned?

Hey everyone. I've never posted on this particular thread before so not sure if this inquiry is where it should be.

But nevermind, here goes! The title is pretty self explanitory. Is there any way, any internet programs or anything, of finding out which aircraft from a certain airline are currently based at each of their base airports.

For example, I want to find out where each of the bmibaby 733's are based right now. There is a specific reason for this but I won't bore you by going into it. I know that G-TOYA and G-BYZJ are currently based at MAN but only through looking at the airports AMOSS system. And airlines tend to change the based aircraft around on a regular basis.

So, is there any way I can find out where the other WW 733's are based right now and also find out which 733's will be at MAN in a few weeks time, assuming they change over regularly.

This request isn't specifically for bmibaby, just an example. Any input would be greatful.

Hi there,

This is purely out of interest, and just something that I was thinking about. Does anyone have any idea how Ryanair base their aircraft, and rotate them?

eg. Do aircraft arrive from Boeing to a particular base, and remain there until heavy maintenance or something then get swapped around a bit?

Also, do Ryanair fly any W-patterns?

eg. Does each aircraft simply fly to/from its base ie. STN-DUB-STN-PIK-STN...... all day, or could it be more like STN-DUB-PIK-DUB-STN....?

Any replies would be appreciated!

Up

There is not a fixed route, but probably several from which a company will choose on the day which is the best.

The routing will primarily vary as a function of the winds at cruise level, and possibly overflight charges which vary by country.

The best I can suggest is to get yourself a globe and some string. Linking the 2 places will give you the shortest distance between the points and give you some ideas of countries to be overflown.

Whilst I have to agree with TopBunk, some routes seem to be used more often than others. There is no guarantee that the undermentioned route will be flown but it is one of the shorter ones if all other conditions are favourable.

North of Manchester, direct to the north Norfolk coast and straight on to close to Amsterdam. Continue course to around Arnhem/Nijmegan then turn slightly south and direct to Munich. Turn direct to Ljubljana with a final turn around Salonika.

No guarantees of course.

Not sure about MAN as a new GF destination, they used to ply the route with a 767 a couple of times per week as a tag-on from MUC and CDG back in the 1990's I believe, but it was never their preferred route as it was from AUH instead of BAH due to the restrictive bi-laterals at the time (I stand to be corrected here?)

At MAN these days you have Etihad daily on AUH alongside Emirates 2x daily (possible 3rd in the pipeline?) to DXB and Qatar daily to DOH so things do look a little crowded for a new carrier to the Gulf states. Although it would be great to see GF metal on the ground at MAN again :)

Thanks

195 to either, early or late depending on if it works!
145 to either any time of day, depends on booked loads, crews, serviceability etc.

There isn't any set pattern and it can and does change during the day. If you are looking to fly on a specific type those are the routes that are probably the least predictable.

Yeah, no problem. They can get from London to St. Johns, Canada, which is 2316 miles in a straight line. Your flight is 1473 miles in a straight line,

I apologise if I am posting in the wrong place but I wanted to know if the Singapore plane with the registration(?) 9V-SVJ that left MAN about 10.17 today (1st Nov 2007) was SQ327 to Singapore. I appreciate that I am probably asking a completely daft question but there you go. How else will I learn anything? Please be kind if you reply!

1st Nov 2007, 22:49
It was supposed to push back at 10.00(which it did) and the airline told me it would take off at 10.26 but then at 10.20, after I'd seen it go, they said it would take off very soon. I decided that the person was confused and that I had just watched my brother's plane as he started his one-way trip to a new life in enZed...but I just wanted another person to say it was and there wasn't another sneaky Singapore Airlines plane just waiting around the corner until I'd run off sobbing towards the M56(OK, that last bit was just for dramatic effect)

Thank you!

ps the only other plane I've watched leave from here was the Antonov 225 last year...almost to the day...OK a month back...and even I could tell which one that was!

Yes, 9V-SVJ was the aeroplane (Boeing 777) serving the Manchester to Changi, Singapore flight but you may have made a typo as the flight number was SQ327.

The good news is that, as you may have heard by now, it arrived safely a short while ago.

Nosey, some people are born lucky. I took my little boy to his first cricket match, very first ball the guy tonks it for 6 and it drops at our feet.

Similarly, you should know that not all random visits to the mound result in seeing an An-225 :D Or did you have a plan?

Now that was a surprising sight, as it floated over my garden that day, apparently motionless.

I knew it was flying out that day as my partner was on it - going to Nigeria to build a stage...never have I been so jealous of anyone...

Bit of a strange question this.......I went on a school trip to Jersey. At the time I was not interested in flying, so didn't take any notice of the type of plane I was on. Having now got my PPL and being very interested in flying, I'm curious as to what type of plane it might have been, as it was my very first flight.

So, it was from Gatwick to Jersey, 1972 - obviously I don't expect a definitive answer, but just some suggestions as to likely types for that route at that time.

Do you remember if it was a chartered flight (just the school, perhaps) or a normal flight? Might help cut down the options.

BCal used to fly BAC 1-11s to Jersey then. Wot fun!!.

vancouv
6th Dec 2007, 06:36
I don't think there would have been enough of us for a charter, so most likely a schedule.

I do remember that Jersey was fogged in and we had to divert to Southampton - after a couple of hours on the ground we set off again - so 2 flights for the price of one!! To this day that's the only time I've been diverted.

Go First Choice, not Last Resort :p

More leg room than all the transatlantic scheduled carriers ex MAN and affordable upgrades.

No brainer, personally, unless it's for spotting and you really want to stop en-route, claim bags, clear immigration, re-check bags blah blah blah

Does anybody know what an A320 of Air france is doing here????

Could be a fake - looks far too high for that approach - judging by some others I've seen:8

CentreFix25

Since November 2007, Air France has been operating a second Airbus A320 on its local Caribbean network. From now on, these two Airbus A320s will operate the 13 daily flights on the Caribbean network. This consolidated and enhanced network now offers new frequencies and destinations such as Santo Domingo, Saint Martin and Paramaribo, Source (http://corporate.airfrance.com/en/news/and-also/etaussi-detail/index.html?tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=1335&cHash=e810d49f8c).

Legitimate, it would seem.

Hi all,

This might sound daft to some...but bare with me!!

Is there a website or somewhere, where you can find out what aircraft is booked on to doing a certain route lets say in a couple of weeks time??

For example....Could I find out...lets say...What Monarch aircraft, the registration will be operating a the flight to Malaga from Manchester for Feb 15th 2008??

Cheers in advance for any advice/guidance.

15Feb MAN-AGP

ZB654 = A321
ZB662 = A321

A lot of the time when U book a flight it gives U an option to pre-book a seat, U will know what aircraft it is by the seat plan.

Don't some airports publish advanced timetables of scheduled flights in spotter kind of magazines that details flight numbers, aircraft types and maybe expected a/c???

Avman
8th Feb 2008, 06:32
Obtaining advance information of which particular a/c registration will operate a given flight is more difficult.

A/c are rotated and though a basic plan might be drawn by ops (but only several days before I think) it is always subject to change at short notice for a variety of reasons (such as: tech problems / delays / loads / commercial).

Hi, Does anyone know of a resource (printed or online) that replaces the now defunct Flight Routings book (see here (http://www.transportdiversions.com/publicationshow.asp?pubid=5673)), which allows the decoding of flight callsigns including the ever increasing number of alphanumeric callsigns into the corresponding published flight number, airports of origin and destination, types, days of operation and so on?

Thanks in advance

Thanks Flying Torquewrench, but can l go 50-50 or phone a friend, sorry l can not help this time.
It might vary at odd times for the first few months of the summer, as one A300 will be out of the program until the end of June, plus other types in May due maintenance.

Spotty,

Don't know if phone a friend will help you this time. Unless you have a friend who has seen the BIG picture. ;)

The MON1276 doesn't even show on the peak week schedule on Mnet. However there is an earlier departure out of MAN to CFU. But totally different flight number.

They'll probably arrange some pilots to fly it, sell some tickets, get a few cabin crew to deal with any passengers who turn up, sort a few other things out, and away they go.
