not that exciting but I have a picture of the approach to runway 33 here (http://www.airfields.fotopic.net/p41178642.html) and again here (http://www.airfields.fotopic.net/p41178643.html) taken last year if it helps.

We were told the aircraft were flying in bits for the VW factory but that could have just been a wind up.

How did you get into that position on the grass by the old terminal, you must have been on the airport staff surely?

Apologies for the quality - my photographs haven't stood the test of time well.

Last shot shows G-AVBL, Britannia's first Boeing 737 departing in the background. This was the first Boeing 737 on the UK register and I took the photo the day after its delivery flight to the UK. Exciting stuff at the time!

IIRC BAL's first 737 was G-AVRL.

Nice to see the old Anson in the background of the Tarom aircraft. was telling my Mum about it as we looked around the Shuttleworth aircraft last week.

Anyone remeber the Spantax CV-990s? Better still - anyone have a picture!

Indeed it was - can't read my own scribble.

Any guess as to the year the above were taken? :8

The pictures of the Executive Air Beagle Pup 150s, CX, HO & NP, brought back some memories for me. I did my Flying Scholarship at Elmdon in 1971 and flew all three; HO being my favourite and the one for my first solo.

Thanks to DCD for the chance to see them again.:D

I only flew CX and NP. Most people said NP was best. I thought Keith Tremelling was going to cry as he watched it disappear for the last time!

Wow, what great memories. There was a very nice grass spectators area and cafeteria on the west side of the international apron, (you can see it on the picture of the TAROM Il-18s). In those days the fences were low and thus it was great for photography. Unfortunately for me, I couldn't afford a decent camera then! Nevertheless, when I have a few hours to spare I'm going to rummage around the attic and see if I can find any of my old pics that may be worthy of posting.
