Old chestnut I know, but can anyone tell me whether this course is still extant or has it quietly expired? I note in another thread that EZY are sending their guys on FAA Flight Dispatchers courses in the states which gives the impression that they have walked away from the GCNS route.

This course, although admirable and praise has to be passed to those that were behind it's formation, was based on an 18 month (days off) distance learning basis. Human nature is much more receptive to a 6 week classroom based course, other than distance learning. The GCNS course provided the JAA element and some could argue that the FAA licence is not relevant in certain areas, eg B727 LCI, but a decision was made to qualify staff and at the end of the day, the FAA licence is still THE qualification to hold in the industry.
