Any one know who operates the AN-12 parked on the remote stands at the moment, i think she may have been there all weekend as she was sitting in the same spot when i arrived back from bristol this evening.

The crew from the AN-12 has disappeared. Airside ops now want to impound the aircraft. The aircraft flew tires into Newcastle the other week and the crew stayed in a local hotel. There were about 10 crew members, They checked out the hotel the next day and no one has seen them since.

I saw it fly in on Sunday 22/10/06 at approx 12.30 hrs.
I missed photographing it landing but got this one about 45 mins later on the stand.

At NCL today at roughly 11.00am i was sitting in my marketing lecture at the collage class room at NCL when i heard an aircraft taking off so i looked out the window and was presented with a White A340 taking off on runway 07 it looked huge!! was unable to make out any markings on it what so ever so does any one know who operated it??
Also was it even taking off as when i drove in this morning there was nothing near the size of an A340 in!! The Biggest aircraft in at that time was a Flyjet 757.
Any ideas??

cheers

See that XL have their 738 back at NCL and KLM have used their Fokker F50 PH-KVF.

EGNT: Saw the KLM F50 land around 18.15 - a very pleasant change, and now a bit of a rarity but having said that, so was the F27 until the MNG Cargo F27's started operating on a nightly basis! :D

The winglet fitted XL738 is, or was parked on stand 5 or 6 - just about the time the KLM F50 landed, made a rather boring day somewhat more interesting..

Airport boss resigns14:38, May 17 2007

By:

Newcastle Airport boss John Parkin has resigned.
Mr Parkin, 52, was suspended in March while the airport investigated what it described as “certain personal contractual issues”.
A statement released by the airport on Thursday said: "Following a statement issued on 23rd March 2007 concerning the suspension of John Parkin, Chief Executive, and an associated ongoing investigation into certain personal contractual issues, Newcastle International Airport Limited confirms that Mr Parkin has resigned from the Company with effect from Friday, 11th May 2007.
"Since 23rd March significant progress has been made in connection with the investigation into the personal contractual issues and Mr Parkin’s resignation does not affect or impact on the ongoing inquiry.
"We are advised that, because of the legal nature of the ongoing investigation, we are unable to make any further comment on the matter at this time."

Oh well.

Whos going? I'm hoping 07 is the active on sat we'll just have to see, I'll be there with my camera shooting it landing and then leaving again before speeding off to the match! I suspect the airport and surrounding areas will be quite busy. Maybe see you all in wings for a celebratory drink ? :)

Should be a A321, don't think they have any A310's.

Yep, but im hoping that 25 is in use :) better spotting places there.

As for the Onur Air arrival, ive noticed that most morning flight into NCL are operated by the A300, with fridays Antalya flight being typically operated by the MD-88.

Hi, wonder if you can help. My wife works under the final approach to RW25 at EGNT. got her fairly well anoraked up about various A/C she sees. She even knows varous Sea King Types now.

Anyway, she says on Friday a military jet with circles (Roundals) on the underside of its wings made repeated approaches and landings. She says it was noisy and looked a bit like concorde....By that she means delta wings and a pointy nose...

She drew a picture as she saw it from underneath and it looked like an old Lightening to me.

Can't possibly be can it?

Anyone able to help

Cheers

Im going to be up in Newcastle this weekend, wondered if anyone knew what aircraft types and airlines were based there over the summer im always unsure about NCL?

EGNT
16th Aug 2008, 12:33
As far as i'm aware, the aircraft based at NCL this summer are as follows;

1x XLA 738 C-GOAF
2x TOM757, 1x TOM738 and a 763 half of the week
2x TCX757

Weekends bring the Austrian CRJ, Monarch A330-200, a few Onur Air and Bmi on the sunday.

Hope this helps.

Speaking of the MON 330 flight, anyone know whats happening with MON324 from CUN this morning? Its delayed indefinately at the minute.

Mr @ Spotty M
16th Aug 2008, 14:09
Delayed due to the fact it has not left yet for POP & CUN, due both A330s out of action.:{
