Gents,

My first post here on PPRune but felt this may be of intrest today as seen in that famous(infamous) roundabout in Central Wales . I am one of those (Sad?) people that trek up a Welsh hill in all weathers in the hope of catching one of you lot past the lens and today we had a very photagenic GR4 plus the steed of a VIP don't know if he was flying it though!

The writing under the cockpit of the Typhoon is
"ACM Sir Glenn Torpy"

Cheers Gareth

Ah, but was it him flying it?

It's good that he has an aircraft allocated to him personally.

I mean, it's highly plausible that he himself will have to take to the skies to defend us all isn't it?

Isn't the RAF PR machine great. Well I guess it pleased the CAS anyway.

As it's his personal run steed, does he get to mod it with bit's and bobs from Halfords?

Bigger and noisier exhaust, fake bullet holes, cool ICE etc? What are the alloy options?

Nice pics
But the Typhoon looks bloody terrible with that soot mark above the wing. Atleast the GR4 has recently been 'cleaned' but even that is multi-coloured with different shade of panels all over the place....looks like it has been sat around for some time waiting for parts canibalised from others..to get it airborne ? :hmm:

Should the CAS not be running the RAF instead of whizzing around Wales?

Gents,

Thanks for all your kind words, sorry two of the pics ended up
side by side!

I thought the Typhoon might of been of intrest and I could not resist the GR4 as the light was superb when he came through.

Hobie,

I use a Canon 350D coupled with a Sigma 80-400 OS lens and I marry this up with a Bucket load of patience and cast iron pants to keep a lid on the adrenalin rush when these chaps thunder past :)

Finally I thought you might like to see 1 more as a follow on to Ricko's thread from a few days ago.........same subject different part of Wales a few months ago in awful weather ,
