Hi folks! JAR-ATPL(issued in Germany) conversion into UK-ATPL: any hints? Help appreciated... Thankx. :confused:

and why do you want convert your license? it is JAA.yo don't have to.

go see your CAA office in germany and they will transfer your license to gatwick.

To my knowledge, the process requires that you have an address in the UK, the filling of a form, and the payment of some fees.

I had some problems when transferring to JAR/UK/CAA from german JAR/ATP with the acknowledgment from the LBA to the CAA regarding my MEDICAL.
After some telephone calls and faxes it worked out.
If I remember right, the conversion fee was about 250 Euros`?
Normally only a matter of time (and money)

1.) You`ll get problems if you have a rating in your licence with says for example "A-320 Series Copilot". Because they don`t issue copilot restricted rating in their UK-licence! They didn`t convert mine.

2.) Be aware, it takes up to 3 months for conversion

It just demonstrates that JAA licencing is just a farce!
