i almost got there some time back but turned down the invitation at the last minute cos i got a better offer from another airline.

if you have been invited for interview then by all means they must have sent you the details - incl the expected salary. on a good month i think an f/o gets around US$5500-6000. not sure though, but good luck just the same.

I'm confused. I look up Air Hong Kong on the net and come up with an A300 cargo op in Hong Kong. Do they have a Singapore base? Do they hire separately? I'm curious and interested if someone can point me in the right direction.

Much mahalos.

It's a Hong Kong cargo airline alright, but the flight crews are based in Singapore due to the astronomical cost of housing in HKG. Similar to CX pilot baseing outside HKG.

I have attended the interview - do you by any chance have three daughters, drive an Unser and play bad golf?

I had an interview with then in Singapore earlier in the year and it was a very pleasant interview , very relaxed. There was 30 question tech quiz(multi choice) then 8 or so written questions (vmcg, vmca etc). Then a interview which was personal and tech questions with a senior manager and a senior captain. These guys were really pleasant, so I really enjoyed the interview. The roster is very appealing 8 on 6 off. So some crew commute from Thailand, I even heard there might be a base in Penang! Good luck with the interview.

Hallo guys the interview is not fair because the do not need now people but only misusing people and they want the people to spend around 1000 $ on tickets and when you are there than they say we do not need for this time pilots but may be for the future. And even at the end when everything is ok, they say everything like please wait for us and we will get in touch with you, we really hope you are waiting for us. And at the end they send you an email like sorry you did not make it, without any address who send it.

When you join they said, you will come to A-306 not on B747.

Hong Kong is just 20-40 % much more expensive than Germany.

The salary is about 4000$ and out of that you have to pay for the appartment around 2500$ and the rest you have to pay for the food.

The people are not honest to you and that is what I do not like.

To the test:

20 atpl questions like what is the Vmin for the approach, or what is ASDA.

No questions to technical points in the interview but to you.

The chiefpilot was impressed by all my things and at the end that I asked the

DFO that do you think that there are some things you may be standing between me and an employment with AHK.

They said we are impressed by all and it looks very good.

And they send a letter that you are not successful.

They are lying to many pilots eventhought they are saying that everything looks good. Because they do not pay the ticket and all.

One pilot was in the interview before me and he came out and both interviewer said in silence that it is nice but we do not need anyone now. so
