Trim Tank transfer system controls aircrafts CofG.

Just to add to HD's excellent reply, that information is for the 340-300 of course. The -600 has more fuel and a few extra tanks to make things simpler (just ask Virgin).

the 600 has the inner tanks split so you have inner 1,2,3 and 4. The principle otherwise remains the same.
1 Centre to inners
2 each inner to 4000 kg
3 trim to inner
4 each inner down to 3500kg, then
5 outer to inner

The aft cg target is approx 2% ahead of the aft cert limit and it will forward transfer to 0.5% ahead of that until you get to 35 min before arrival (or FL245) and then it goes forward if not already.
