HK Citizenship

Is there absolutely any way to gain Hong Kong Citizenship, ive lived in Canada all my life and am NOT of chinese decent. Im pretty naive on the subject, but is there anyway of gaing an HK permanent resident card? the reason is because im interested in the Cathay Pacific Cadet Pilot Programe.

It used to take 7 years of residency/working in HK before you were granted PR.
