I have recently done the 2 days of assessment and sim ride. I am DEP so I don't know if it is different for TRSS.

Day 1.

Interview and Tech quiz. that's it. The Interview is about an Hour long with a person from HR and a Line pilot. 3-4 Questions along the lines of "Tell us a time when you felt stressed in the Work place" what ever answer you give they will probe a little more.

The Line pilot will ask anything from decoding weather charts and Tafs/metars to what is angle of incidence and why do we use reduced thrust. The Tech quiz is 40 questions in 30 Min's. Most from the Cathay interview book.

Day 2.

737 Sim with some steep turns, VOR Tracking and procedural ILS. No single engine or QRH items.I think they are looking for your professional attitude in the Sim as much as flying ability. We were told that day 1 carries more weight than day 2 in the eyes of HR.

Then up to a weeks wait for a yes or no.

The 2 days were very pleasant and the process simply checks your personality, Aviation knowledge and flying ability.

Can add that we didn't do any ILS stuff for TRSS entry, only SIDs and gen. handling.
