I have a BT line that is used for my AOL broadband connection. I am going to be moving away and will get another broadband line for AOL at my next location. My wife, however, is staying at our home address and I would like her to have a broadband connection, but not AOL. I was thinking of Tiscali or such like.

Do I have to ask BT to do something or will there still be a broadband connection on the BT line? Just to make matters worse, the line is rented by my comapny so we will have to get it transferred to the wife's name.

I am sure you will be able to transfer the number and all current services to your wifes name via your phone company which should include keeping the line adsl enabled. Your wife can then choose which ever ISP she likes as it is not normally part of the phone company to provide ISP services as part of line rental. that normally comes under a seperate agreement. double check with your phone company just to make sure.
