EZY and National frozen ATPL

HI There,

Having applied with them lately, I was wondering whether National frozen ATPL's (understand non JAA) may pose problems.
Mine is France issued obtained before the switch to JAA system, hence french national as opposed to JAA.
My CPL IR is JAA.
Is such a configuration acceptable for them ?

Please note that if you hold a European National JAA licence, you will have to exchange it for a UK JAA licence before you start with us. This is due to training purposes (mainly for our TRE's to be able to sign for the type rating endorsement on your licence). The process for the exchange involves filling an application form, sending copies of your licence and medical certificate along with an administration fee, which you will have to find.

Bleeds off - my understanding is that you just trade your own 'national ATPL' for a JAR one in your home country. In the UK it is a reasonably painless (but not costless from what I recall!) process. At that point you are deemed to have a JAR licence which easyJet TREs can sign. We have loads of French pilots working for us who all started with the 'old' licences, as indeed we all did. I do not expect this to be an issue for you. Best of luck.

My concern was about incidental regulatory restrictions that would be applied by CAA on national frozen atpl's, be they issued by JAA contractor countries (france in my case).

For instance, by the time I will be able to unfreeze it (hopefully whilst being with EZY :} ), will it be mandatory for it to be strictly JAA or will my national frozen be approved for the delivery of the full UK JAR ATPL licence ?

Again, I have a french JAR CPL / IR which will be exchanged for a UK JAR one by then.

Because my understanding of EZY policies is that they just get rid of any possible bureaucratic hitch, and I just try to figure out whether my case could be one...
