View Full Version : GA flying in Spain

I'm just planning a trip to Spain in mid-Oct, possibly ending up in Gib.
We have never flown GA in Spain before and are at present reading up the trip kit and studying the maps.
Anyone got any suggestions of best routes, most interesting airfields, places to avoid, etc. Or even, are there any write ups on the web - I've searched on everything I can think of but not found anything yet!
TIA

GA no longer permitted into Gib, unless you're flying a bizjet that is :*

Apparently, the RAF deem the approach too dangerous for "puddle jumpers" (C/O's words)

If you're going that far, why not push on into Morocco? We've just come back from a fabulous VFR trip to Marrakech - truly a stunning GA destination.

The Spanish airfields we visited en-route were:

Girona
Reus (Tarragona)
San Javier (Murcia)
Almeria

No problems with any except a minor irritation at Murcia - no VFR departures before 3pm due Military training on weekdays.
