Whilst reading David Beatty's "The story of Trans-Atlantic Flight", in the pre-war period he mentions a design that won the competion as a contender for the non-stop passenger/mail service being the Short 14/38. Due to the usual British shenanigans (spelling) it was cancelled before being built. It was apparently a four engine, twin tailed aircraft powered I assume by Bristol radials. I can find no trace of the design, can one of our boffins help?
