Last week Skywest pulled their services from Karratha, which was reported in the Pilbara news, they cited the route as being unprofitable, which started the QF bashing again...

Nothing on the Skywest website though....

Yes, I remember well, the loads NJS used to get into KA and PD when AN was around, and when they pulled out of PD ( apparently average load factor of 25% was'nt making money ) what a pack of  they ( QF ) were for pulling out, according to the rocket scientists and nuclear physicists that frequented those routes.
They were just jacked off that NJS/QFlink were'nt hanging around to keep AN honest................w@nkers.

Well, I guess that will free up some crews to start the A320 ops in November

Heard that the local " Rag " reportedly wrote an article with regard to the Skywest pullout referring to QFs service as shoddy and inferring that the already dodgy reliabilty and delays could get worse. ( thats dodgy reliabilty according to them , BTW )
I sincerely hope that when the NJS guys and gals who generally bend over backward to cater to every wim of the rig pigs, get together and show those f/wits what bad service is really like.
I was going to suggest also not turning a blind eye to some of the drunken idiots that get on those flights, but then they would lose half their pax :ugh:

Advent Air Limited

("Advent Air" or the "Company")

Fleet Expansion, Route Changes, Skywest ASX Listing and Interim Dividend

The Board of Advent Air announces today certain business developments concerning
the operations and business of the Company as follows:

Skywest Route Changes

From 18 September, Skywest will introduce a new jet schedule aimed at meeting
the demands of the corporate and mining sector between Perth and Port Hedland.
The new jet services will include direct flights during peak times and a
same-day business trip return schedule to Port Hedland on Tuesdays. Port Hedland
to Broome connections will be offered on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Skywest will
also continue to provide jet links between Broome, Port Hedland and Bali to
service the local community and meet growing demand. Associated with these
changes, due to lack of corporate demand particular to that town, Skywest will
end its services to Karratha on 15September.

Skywest Expansion of Fleet

Skywest Airlines Pty Ltd has today purchased another Fokker 50 Aircraft. The
addition of this plane will increase the Skywest Airlines Fokker 50 fleet to 6
aircraft. The new aircraft will be deployed in service later this month. This
fleet expansion is in order to service current growth within the existing
Coastal Network of Western Australia in addition to providing support for mining
and resource based charter customers.

Skywest Airlines intends to use the aircraft to increase the frequency of
flights to certain coastal towns in Western Australia, such increases may occur
to Carnarvon, Geraldton and Exmouth. With the addition of this aircraft
Skywest's fleet comprises 6 Fokker 50 and 3 Fokker 100 jets. Skywest recently
announced that it had entered into a profit sharing agreement involving the
deployment with Avion Group of Iceland for a further 4 Airbus A320 aircraft.
Skywest will consider adding further to the fleet as and when commercial demand
provides the opportunity. Skywest is particularly interested in developing
further resource sector charter services in Western Australia.

The aircraft is being purchased outright at a cost of US$ 2,331,041 committed
from Skywest's cash reserves.

Skywest listing on Australian Stock Exchange

Advent Air Ltd has completed its mop-up takeover bid for Skywest Ltd with the
announcement of the compulsory acquisition process for the remaining 2.8% of the
shares in Skywest that it did not own. As a result of this, Skywest's shares as
of today are suspended from trading on the Australian stock exchange with
removal of the shares from the official ASX list expected to occur within a few
days.

With QF/Link now doing 3 flights a day into PD, I guess the PD folk won't be complaining about lack of frequency
So when does the 320 start on PD, mustard ?
