It'll probably be for a type as decided by the company, hopefully taking your preference into account. It will not be for 767. You'll only get on that after some 757 time. Currently runs at around 2 years I think.

Hi,

Just had an interview. 3 panel, general chat to start tell us about yourself ect. Very keen on your knowledge about the company. B787 knowledge. Few CRM questions. No tech questions. 1 hour.

B767 depends on you, If you are current on type you will fly it straight away. Type rated Boeing pilots to start around Feb next year.

True - If you're rated on type then you may get on to 767 straight off though it will be mixed fleet flying with the 75. Some of those waiting to get on to 76 may have something to say about that though. I gather a lot of applicants this year are type rated which makes the circumstances a little different to when I joined. Not sure where 767 type rated applicants are coming from though; must be a few airlines that are losing their shine if we're getting 76 rated people.

Interview precis in one of the posts above is spot on.

I would not guarantee that a current 767 recruit will actually fly the aircraft straight away - it MAY be that the Company will require a season of 'bedding-in' on the 757 first particuarly if said recruit has NOT been flying the smaller aircraft which remains the larger fleet. Just for clarification there are pilots who ONLY fly the 757 (new commands, recent recruits etc) - there are NO pilots who only fly the 767 - oops, sorry Pete I know it just feels that way for you.

Hi Guys, thanks!
At the moment I have 1700Hrs on 767 and 1900Hrs total time.
Really would like to start immediately on 767... But we'll see.
Trying to get as much information as I can get.

Cheers,

Skylark,

I can pretty much guantee that you will start on the 757. That is the core of the flying program, and as such your joining LPC, especially joining with other pilots will be on the 757. Given your previous, it MAY be after 6 months your next OPC can be on the 767 (alternating type checks required), however don't expect or assume it. There will be others, with longer time in the company than yourself, more experienced in general although just not having had 767 time, who I'm pretty sure will insist in time honoured fashion that they are not bypassed.

Thanks 30W.
Thought about it, and fly some time on the 757 is ok too, new type,
nice exposure, etc.
We'll see! Last year we did some subcharters for FCA, and looking very good up there.
Guys, take care!
