Am looking at a Captain position on a UK based Challenger but as I have been out of GA for some time I do not know whether the basic salary of £65,000 is industry norm, high or low. The package also includes a trifling per diem of £46 with some other (minor) benefits. Supposedly 300-400 hours flying per year with approx 15 days away per month. Mainly transporting the owner but the aircraft is also on an AOC and therefore available for ad hoc charter (with all the disruption that could possibly incur).

I had hoped for a better basic but I am told that the above figures are 'the going rate'.

I would appreciate hearing soon from anyone on this type or similar (eg Falcon 2000) with info so that I can figure out whether I'm being told the truth.

Thanks!

I guess that going rate is somewhere between 65-80K. Per diems 60-70/day.
It all depends, like you must know.

Janusz. £65,000 is about the bottom end of what might be considered normal for a 604. I guess it just depends on how many jobs vs pilots there are out there.
