From tonight's TV news,
One VH-CWS, DC-3, owned and operated by 'Classic Air' on Tourist Flights ex YPJT.
The Civil Acft Rego site shows it as first being registered in AUS 12 Dec. 1946!
I can relate to that!!
I wish them all the very best, and trust that Perth can support such an operation, and it will certainly be more than 'nice' to see and hear it in action.
No advertising material sighted as yet - but will be looking.....
A 'reliable' source would suggest that YPJT 'security' will now have to be increased - to 'control' the sudden influx of all you ex MMA Captains wanting to renew old and fond acquaintances.
(Wheelchair lifts - an optional extra??) OOps, sorry guys....
Cheers and all the best to all.....

Heard about such a thing a while back, but word at the time was it would be based at YPPH and thought it was just someone's fantasy.
Might have to have a mosey on down to JT and check her out! ;) ASIC in hand of course. :} :\ :uhoh:

Which channel did you see it on, Griffo?

Classic Wings is the new operation - I can well and truly promise that it is no fantasy! :)
The aeroplane will be based at YPPH, arrival at Jandakot today was only to facilitate a few people being able to look at the aeroplane without the issue of security of an RPT airport.
We thought we should avoid advertising too heavily before she got here, just in case any further delays came up with getting her over here, thanks to justifying paperwork etc...better I not get into that!!!
The website should be finalised in the next week or so and advertising material distributed appropriately...

ahhhhhh Griffo, VH-MMA was droning around up here the other day (we're back where we were before), such a lovely sound, such a graceful old girl, but she doesn't get out much anymore

Na tinnie! Not my crew.
I went along for the ride and ran backwards and forwards all over the cabin taking videos and photos.
It was a filmfestwith five madaviation enthusiasts clicking away.
Took close to 3000 photos all up in three days.
I think we got it covered pretty well.
You met the guy in command with me last year in your town.

And to 'Zep',
I think it was CH7 news, and Capt Reg Adkins, ex MMA, featured. Good to see both the good Capt and the acft!
