The biggest fly in of the year has come around again! It will be my first BDV race this year, but have heard heaps about them.

So who's all going and in what a/c?!

I'm taking a full C182. Shall be a looong trip. :hmm:

Looking forward to getting there again this year.

Heard Tibooburra has been out of Avgas for a while - anyone know the latest?

Guess TGM is the only alternative (from Dubbo/Narromine)?

Go and see Bub at Windorah, just don't let yourself get hung out and ripped to shreds, :}.

Disco, you'll be outta there before most turn up, :ok:.

I'd booked some fuel with them a couple of weeks ago. I'd better call tomorrow to reconfirm. I'll post their response here.

Cheers,

Just spoke to Neville at Tibooburra, and he got a truckload in yesterday, so will have fuel.

...apparently the smallest turnout of aircraft to date.

a(nother) sign of ongoing decline of private and commercial GA in australia? :uhoh:

fuel cost might also be a factor......

i would say fuel cost is a factor of the decline, yes.

Was suprised when I flew over on Thursday afternoon actually, in that there was barely anyone there! I know it's only Thursday, but I think there was only like 5 aircraft parked there at that stage.

Maybe 'cos most people have done it by now and didn't see what all the fuss was really about!
Once bitten twice shy!

Be interesting to know what the aircraft numbers have been over the past 10 years or so. Perhaps see a trend of decline?

Numbers were around the 130 in the end. About 25 or so arrived on Sat late am.
All seemed well behaved and the weather was the best in a long time.
Numbers would appear to be in steady decline over the last 10 years.

185.

Amazed its still attracting anyone.

Nice enough old boozer to visit when only the locals are around otherwise red dust stones and flies? ...faaaaark !
