Air Namibia yesterday said goodbye to it's leased MD11, which has just been replaced by a Malaysia Airlines' Boeing 747-400. This is an unprecedented lease because of the unhappiness the airline experienced operating it's last 747. However, this lease is only temporary while another A340 is being configured, set to join the other in the fleet in the upcoming near future. This plane (747 - being malaysia airlines') may have personal TV's - a lack air namibia needs to do something about. Anyone with any news about anything regarding the matter, please say.

I was in Windhoek yesterday and asked our ground engineer what the MAS 747 ws doing parked. He mentioned that it came in 3 times a week. I found it hard to believe, since MAS is in financial strife and I couldn't see the point in sending any aircraft from KL to Windhoek let alone a 747.
So F&T you could be right....on lease until the new 340 arrives!

Someone on the wire told me that LGW had received a Malaysian 744 last week and I thought they had been drinking too much coffee in the canteen. Its sad to see the MD11 go but a nice change for us working at LGW!:)
