I have been trying to help my flatmate out with his Laptop. It had been used on the net unprotected and was full of spyware, viruses etc. I have now sorted all that out, but now he can no longer burn CDs. The drive works in all other aspects, just will not open a folder for him to write/burn data files.

I found something on the Microsoft website to check in the registry. However, his computer will not let me into the registry as I need to be an 'Administrator'. Although he logs as the Administrator, there is no password so I do not know what is going on.

Any ideas?
