CF-TJE - Can someone confirm identity ?

I am transferring my father's old 8mm film to DVD. In 1971 he visited me in Toronto and filmed his trip. The film clearly shows aircraft reg on wing as CF TJE. My own research does not bring up this particular aircraft but it appears that reg. was contained in a block covering a fleet of Air Canada DC8-63s.
Can someone please confirm?

CF-TJE was indeed an Trans Canada/Air Canada DC-8 43 - scrapped sometime after 1981.

In fact, CF-TJE (c/n 45565/111) was originally a DC-8-42 and carried the Air Canada Fleet No.805. She was delivered on 17 Nov 1960.

The aircraft was later converted to DC-8-43 standard. As far as I can gather this resulted in an increase in take off weight from 312,000 lbs to 318,000 lbs.

Just in case you have not realised it, the DC-8-40 series aircraft were powered by RR Conway 12/509 engines and not the usual P&W JT-4A/JT-3D engines.

In fact, neither did I. I simply entered CF-TJE and found the list on page two. If what you are seeking doesn't appear immediately, just keep surfing.

Incidentally, I noted TJE at Heathrow on 6 Jan 1964. Your query also helped unearth the serials of seven Sea Furies at Lasham, so I am grateful on that account!

Apols for overlooking your question about the Sea Furies.

Lasham was one of Staravia's depositories for surplus MOD aircraft. Crookham, the former tobacco farm Redfields, was another. Believe the owner was one Danny Bernstein, and a former Fleet primary school chum David Black went to work for him and I also believe became MD.
Anyway, my visit in May 1964 revealed some 15 T-33s, 6 Meteors, 3 Sea Venoms, a Canberra (WH912), an S-51 VX596 c/n 9 named Joker, 50 (!) Sea Hawks, a Vampire (WZ551), and the aforesaid 7 Sea Furies, TF947, TF968, VR936, VW583, VX660, VX694 and WE728. I recall F-86s at Redfields and a sole Sea Fury.
