BMED have just announced a new route to Freetown via Dakar starting in October. As I may be going there soon I wonder if any Astaeus pilots could give me a few pointers on the airport/HOTAC/medical requirements/security etc.
Many thanks in advance

I was crew for Astraeus and now work for BMED, here's my view.

The Lungi Airport Hotel in Sierra Leone does not compare to any of the BMED hotels, even the Queen Alia at Amman Airport. There is however, thank god, a bar, and the Astraeus crew, many of whom are my ex-colleagues are a hoot!

However, Freetown itself has a sister hotel to teh Lungi of better quality, the people are friendly, the bars and clubs are great fun!

I CAN'T WAIT to start going there, it's gonna be so much fun!:ok:

Astraeus crew are advised to take malaria tablets, but i am not sure what BMED's stand lies on this one.

The airport has a small duty free shop, which is well stocked and reasonably priced.

Regards

Mike

In my eyes, Freetown is what you make it, you get out what you put in, it takes effort, but my best trips ever have been to FNA.

Here's the flights times, nice going out, but a bit horriffic coming in in light of the minimal time differences.

__3____ 1150-2035
FNA-DKR-LHR
_2_____ 0150-1005
