I've worked for 9 different employers as a pilot, one of those had three different incarnations. Only the 8th job was advertised (Skywest Avn - Airmed/Coastwatch), and even that was at the (former) CES.

All other jobs have been obtained by being Johhny on the spot, knocking on doors, or networking.

Minumum experience level 600 hours total time.
50 on Cessna 206, 180 or 185. PNG experience an obvious adbvantage but not essential.

Tin,
that would be a good gig for a newbie, spend 12 months doing some real flying and you're gonna end up in a kero burner shortly after...
if only i was 10 years younger and wasn't getting paid a fortune i'd leap at it :{

some great info for guys lookin for a good start....

good to see info being shared by people who have 'been there and done that'.. the png crew seem to have a good sense of humour too which would almost be a pre-requisite for getting a job up there..

any ways so i don't get accused of high jacking the thread...if you can afford to go to Italy for a summer holiday why don't you pack a bag and go bush looking for a job? :confused: most of us have done the hard yards and made the sacrifices...there are no short cuts...you want a job bad enough...go look for it!!!
