Well, well! This story has been big news up here - may well become World News now..

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/5246378.stm

After sacking his entire legal team and then representing himself, he's won his case and shown what gutter press the NoW can be.

He reminds me of a certain George Galloway taking on the US Senate:p

During the case, Lord Turnbull said: "It seems to me pretty much inevitable there will have to be a criminal investigation at the conclusion of this case into the question of whether witnesses have committed perjury.

"The witnesses who have committed perjury would be liable to be sentenced to imprisonment for a lengthy period."

He said: "We have over the last five weeks taken on one of the biggest organisations on the planet with the biggest amount of resources to pay for the most expensive legal teams to throw nothing but muck against me, my wife and my family.

"Today's verdict proves working class people can differentiate the truth from the muck.

"The working class people and the jury have done a service to the people of Scotland and delivered a message to the standard of journalism the News of the World represents.

"They are liars and they have proved they are liars."

He said he could not have conducted the case without the "loyalty and support" of his family and "thousands of working class people".

Listened to him addressing the crowd outside the court,he reminded me of some 1970's shop steward ranting at the shipyard gates.
Someone should tell him, the working class disapeared twenty years ago.:uhoh:
Still, anybody who sticks it up the news media is ok by me.

Or ' News of the Screws,' as it is known south of the border.

A rabid, ranting socialist in a sharp suit with a trophy woman. Derek Hatton
is alive and well and living in Jockistan!!

The real joy of this case is that it's like watching a playground fight between two people, both of whom you loathe.

It doesn't matter who loses, so long as both sides are injured and there is plenty of blood.

Toast, toast?!!

She is married to a rabid Scottish socialist.

At home she will be wrapped in a shawl, cooks porridge over the kitchen range, and wrings her chapped hands when the rich land owners drive by her one bedroomed crofters cottage.

But every so often the taxi arrives and whisks her off to BA where she
is transformed into Miss World's Favourite Airline!!

Ain't capitalism wonderful!! ;) :ok:

Luxury, we had to share a sheep pen with four other families, the sheep, the cattle and the chickens
