Re the VS200 flight diverted from HKG to Shangahi due to the Typhoon
As waiting for 2 pax on this, seemed very hard to get any info. Once the HK office had shut , then had to call London to find out what was going on for them.
Virgin phonestaff were really good (Thanks Sarah & Eva), they did all they could but seemed they had to call Shanghai for an update themselves. I then had to relay this back to them in the terminal.
As a suggestion (given this must happen often):
Airlines put latest updates on the Internet! - this is very easy to do technically and sure beats just 'diverted to Shanghai' with the arrival time after a long search
and....
Update this every hour

Was up at 5am wondering what/where they actually were
Not all passengers are fit and able with clear ability to express themselves. For some its pretty scary esp going around twice at HK into a typhoon before returning back (again) to Shanghai. Some more info would have been appreciated to relay if groundstaff were limited in their English skills
Lastly, Thanks to the pilots on this who did decide to turn back after going all the way to try and get in - being here in HKG it was pretty rough alright and I think you made a good call, delay or not.
