There ARE Policemen in Britain who would have been only too eager to oblige.

There was a story on one of the news feeds here a couple weeks ago about a woman in rural Maine who called 911 (our police/fire emergency number) thinking her house had been broken into.

A couple days later she called 911 again and asked the operator to send back the "very cute policeman" who'd responded to her call because she'd like to get to know him. "He's the nicest man I've met in a long time."

Not knowing just which cute cop it was, the operator asked her to describe him. What followed was a nearly erotic decription of the cop's attributes ~ all recorded, of course.

The police did dispatch the very same officer to her house, who then arrested her. She was arraigned and is now out on bail awaiting trial. It's a rather serious offense to misuse 911.

Sorry I can't find the article, as it tells the story better than I can.
