Would any Air Traffic Controllers be able to give me advice on descent planning?
The other day I had planned for a Lanak 1A arrival at Glasgow which has the following descent planning/ATC requirements.
Lanak 1A:At or below FL260 by Margo, at or below FL160 by D10 TLA,7000 (equivalent fL) by Lanak.
Before my aircraft reached Margo I was asked by ATC to proceed direct to Lanak, now my understanding is when you are cleared direct to a waypoint, any waypoint you pass with an altitude constraint can be disregarded. Is this correct? Or do you have to conform to the restrictions even though you do not pass directly over head them??
Any advice would be appreciated.
