Swapping the sophisticated flight deck of the 757 for the Heath-Robinson cockpit of the Vulcan, Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden, Astraeus etc.) will be one of the pilots taxiing Vulcan XL426 at Southend Airport on 12th August.
The event is being staged by the Vulcan Restoration Trust to celebrate 20 years of preservation at Southend Airport. The gates open at 10am and the Vulcan will be high speed taxied by Bill Burnett and Bruce during the afternoon. Guided tours of the cockpit will run all - classic vehicles, stalls, hopefully some visiting aircraft and (of course) a bar!
