I'm just curious as to the method of hour's calculation, for rosters, of different international carriers.
The company I work for has two different systems. 1) in shorthaul, hours are calculated strictly on stick hours. 2) whereas in longhaul they use a credited hour system. Taking into account night hours, transits, sign off and sign on times, etc. Please don't ask me to explain it in detail as it is extremely complicated, hence the fact that I'm curious about this system being used elsewhere.

Does your carrier use stick or credited hours for roster calculations?

Simple:

Logbook flying hours are Chocks off to Chocks on. This is, I believe UK CAA standard. Max 900 hrs per year and 100 per 28 days.

The Flight duty as per required to compare with max Flight Duty Period is report (1 hour before Scheduled departure) untill chocks on for last flight, again CAA regulated.

Duty time is report until clear - standard clear for pilots is 30 mins after chocks on.

This is for one of the UK Charter carriers.

hope this helps.
