Thats fantastic news - recently went to Vegas and if they can come up with something half as good as Paris or MGM Grand then I'm right behind it...

Think of all that extra money that its going to bring to the area. If Greenwich can get this it'll be a huge win ;-)

It's a great idea, let the white elephant pay for itself. Now if Blackpool could go the same way.

In a book I am reading at present, (see the book thread) the author attended the dome on 31 Dec 1999 and described the evening as follows.

"Touted as festival of high technology in an aesthetic dreamscape, the evening resembled a five hour stopover at a second rate German airport. For others, the evening resembled a five hour attempt to reach a second rate German airport". :)

Whilst I've nothing against a few "super-casinos" in UK (suitably sited and under sensible (so that probably means not Government;) ) control,

He was rebuked by the Commons standards committee for not immediately declaring a visit to the ranch of US tycoon Philip Anschutz - the man bidding for a licence to turn the Dome into a super casino.
How long is it going to be before 2-jags/slags is kicked out of Westminster, his Country Mansion (tax-payer supplied) and preferably the country that he is constantly betraying.

You poor tax-paying slobs in UK (and me, if I can ever face coming "home" to the mess it's in) don't deserve fools like him and Bliar

(Oh! You do? Because you voted for them:eek: ?)
