Morning all,
Just saw on Sky News video footage of a Tupolev 134/5(?) crashing just after take-off. Reporter stated that an engine failed and the crew didn't have enough time to stop/land back on. Can't find anything on the internet about this. Aircraft crashed and burned, all out alive some with burns. Apparently carrying military personnel.

Anybody know any more?

Thats what I have heard:

A russian Navy Tu-134 encountered a birdtrike shortly after lift off from the runway of a marine base near Simferopol. Crew decided to turn back and made a emergency landing. Aircraft overshot the runway, broke in several pieces and caught fire?

No body was killed, but three officers where injured.

With regards,

Christian

Stubenfliege 2, the aircraft didn't "turn back" as such. The bird strike appeared to occur more or less as the a/c rotated. PF put it back on the runway and ran off the end.
