Can't help you with winzip, I find the program heavy, needy, complex and pervasive, so have uninstalled it, but this http://www.extractnow.com/ should take you to a program that is less counterintuitive.

Hey, with winzip you have one of three options (basic)

1 - Right click the zip/rar files you downloaded, then click extract to folder aircraft....., this will create a folder where the zip download is, you can then just copy over the folder to fs directories

2 - Right click and just extract, this will extrct all files to the directory where the zip is but not put files into a folder with the same name as the zip, in most cases....

3 - Right click the file and click extract too.. a window will open and you can select the fs directory and a folder name you want the files to go into and then it will extract to that folder...

Alot of FS downloads i have tryed recently mostly come with auto extractors or installers....

As markjoy says, extractnow is pretty good.

I mostly use 7Zip - http://www.7-zip.org/ - which is free, easy to use and I think pretty good.

The main features of 7-Zip:

* High compression ratio in new 7z format with LZMA compression
* 7-Zip is free software distributed under the GNU LGPL
* Supported formats:
o Packing / unpacking: 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR
o Unpacking only: RAR, CAB, ISO, ARJ, LZH, CHM, Z, CPIO, RPM, DEB and NSIS
* For ZIP and GZIP formats 7-Zip provides compression ratio that is 2-10 % better than ratio provided by PKZip and WinZip
* Self-extracting capability for 7z format
* Integration with Windows Shell
* Powerful File Manager
* Powerful command line version
* Plugin for FAR Manager
* Localizations for 63 languages
