Hello everyone,

I have just got to know from a friend that Airmalta are currently looking for Ready-entry pilots.
In their homepage they are asking for a pass in GCSE/MATSEC(?) Maltese language, does anybody know if this goes against EU legislation , could this be a move to exclude non-maltese nationals from applying?

Is anybody going to apply for this vacancy? and will it be for the UK bases Airmalta have here in the UK?

Thanks for your help.

Well, doesn't it sound reasonable to be able to converse with your colleagues in the local language? Makes work with the ground staff easier too. The local language is usually required with large carriers that do not NEED to take foreigners.

Is the mentioning of Maltese O levels to be seen as a requirement? Then the A levels maths would have counted me out... :ooh:

If it goes against some regulation or other, who cares? try to fight them in court and then get a job with them? You can be happy they tell you in advance, before you go there for interview.

But a 10 year bond?? a bit over the top... And that you have to hand in the form in person is quite individual too.

cheers, IP
