Hello,

I suppose it's here few maurician pilots who read this forum.....
I have a request about a particular plane who was years ago in service in Air Mauritius......
Iwould like know....what was the name of the last Twin Otter in service in Air Mauritius....and also the imatriculation.
I put under a pesonnal photo of this plane (I think it was the last...and at this date Air Mauritius have already the ATR 42 ....)
I don't remember the exact year I take this photo..(maybe I'm to many time in Mauritius? lol)
In the background...the new airport in construction........
Photo was taken from the roof of the old airport...nostalgia..nostalgia.
Thank's if any have this details (maybe one here have piloted himself this plane)
I have know very well Mr De Robillard...few must remember him certainly...
BTW...no a pic on Airliners.net of a Twin Otter of Air Mauritius...!

Hello Sailor,

I think the registration was 3B-NAD and the name "Port Mathurin", but I will confirm this as soon as I am back home.

I might have a few pics of it, I have to look for them.

Cheers,

Hello LocaliserAlive,

Thank's for your answer...the imatriculation seem's right to me...but I still sceptical about the name "Port Mathurin"......I think its for the 3B-NAB.
AFAIK for now:

3B-NAB DHC-6-300 442 Jan 75 - May 89

3B-NAD DHC-6-300 636 Sep 79 - Nov 90

Yes that's exactly what I think..."Port Mathurin"....and for the 3B-NAB...so it's not the name of the last Twin Otter as the last plane of this type in service with Air Mauritius was the 3B-NAD :)

3B-NAB DHC-6-300 442 Jan 75 - May 89

3B-NAD DHC-6-300 636 Sep 79 - Nov 90

So I still searching the name of this last Air Mauritius Twin Otter
BTW nice to have a answer from ppl from the "Island Of Paradise" :)
Ki position....matelot..

Hi Sailor !
I can concur all info above correct i.e 3B- NAB PORT MATHURIN
3B- NAD VILLE DE MAHEBOURG

If my memory serves me right they were both sold to AIR VANUATU .
Also I am sad to say that ex 3B-NAD met with a sad end late in 1991 when a Vanuatu Government delegation touring the islands on board got caught in some bad weather and crashed. All POB killed.
I have no idea of the whereabouts of 3B-NAB . Maybe it's still there, hopefully somebody from Vanuatu might read this.

Since we are on the subject whatever happened to our old B707 3B-NAF ?
Any clues ?
