Hi, Amigos!

I´m looking for infos about Bolivian Aeroclubs (especially around La Paz) in English language ... (my Spanish sucks ... unfortunately).
Am currently in the North of Argentinia & will travel to Bolivia in a few days
(Yeah, a lucky few can still afford to take some holidays :) )

Thnx for your replies ...

Wow, can't say that I've ever heard of an aeroclub in Bolivia. Bolivia is not exactly a terribly wealthy country in the region.

There is one flying school located in Santa Cruz de Sierra that I've found in a quick websearch with a very impressive looking website-- this might be as close to what you are looking for:

Morales Flight Center (http://www.morales-flightcenter.htmlplanet.com/)

No mention on what the rental rates are, but their course for the Private Pilot licence with 40 hours in a Cessna 152 is advertised at $2500 USD (making it around $60 per hour). The contacts from the website are as follows:

e-mail: [email protected]
Fixed Telephone number: (591 - 3)351-8860
Cap. Av. Carlos A. López R. (TEL Móvil 700 65226)
Cap. Av. Freddy Morales (TEL Móvil: 708 72486)

Escuela de Aviación Morales Flight Center
Aeropuerto El Trompillo Hangar No. 44
Santa Cruz de la Sierra – Bolivia

If nothing else, maybe they can tell you of other schools in La Paz itself.

Here is the website for the DGAC Bolivia. Not too informative as far as personnel licencing or local contacts go, doesn't even give a contact address and phone number for the directorate. Site is all in Spanish, I'm afraid.

DGAC Bolivia (http://www.dgac.gov.bo/)

Hope this helps somewhat.

El Alto, La Paz's international airport, is situated on the high plain above the city, slightly over 13,000 ft. Not the most amenable countryside for a flying club.
