I read today that Pelican is getting an ATR-42 for services between JNB and Vilanculous sometime in July or August. They will then combine flights to operate 1 daily flight. Do they actually also fly between MQP and Vilanculous as stated, or is it just depending on passengers?

Will be operated by Solenta, who now apparently own a stake in Federal Air.

Solenta will indeed be operating the ATR for Pelican.

Quite true, the other operator who lost out on that contract has no crew for their ATR's. due to a recent spate of ATR drivers resigning after the company introduced a very dubious new salary taxation structure. I think they only have 1 captain and 2 FO's under training for both aircraft.

Yet again a case of the finance department messing around in flight ops, very much like the old Rossair days just before things went t1ts up :=
