Stemming from a recent thread of mine regarding hiring of aircraft of hour-building in Norway, two posters have indicated that one needs to have a license issued by the Norwegian CAA in order to pilot an LN-reg.

I wonder if anyone could provide a reference stating that this is indeed the case. I went through the Norway AIP at http://www.ippc.no/ippc/aispublications.jsp but couldn't find any references to this. I've also sent an e-mail to a Norwegian FTO, will post back when I receive a reply.

I've got a UK-issued JAR-FCL PPL, btw.

Hi Son of a Beech,
One reason for introducing the JAR-FCL was just that - the 'Free flow of pilots' within the JAA. However, the A/C owner is obviously free to require whatsoever before renting out.
(There used to be a nice Aztec at ENRY, btw ;-)
Cheers, and good luck,
