just had a look at the new open time function on the portal. couldn't help having my heart jump at this beautiful sight:
the fleet choices are 310dxb, 330dxb and 777dxb.
does that mean there might be a 777lhr or 330syd in the future??
dream on, ttn

Also lets the company have "Another" Reserve pool so protecting the "Reserve" Group and giving the company more breathing space.

Put a days shine on the open time flight's not being available to the Reserve Group with unwritten or written instructions , in the past when on reserve you could score a flight in open time.

Sounds like a win win for EK again .

Can someone please explain HOW (other than a lack of crew) after implementing the much awaited and grossly overpriced ADOPT system there are ANY trips in open time? This was going to be the rostering system that solved our scheduling problems and allocated ALL the flights at a press of a button.... :D

While we're on the subject of pressing buttons, why does it take so long after the bid is closed for rosters to be published? :uhoh:

Also, why do pursers get their Rosters a week before Captains/FO's?
1 Captain, 1 FO, 1 Purser on a flight so numbers can't be a reason. :=

Finally, agree with uplock - this new open time portal crap is yet another creative way to get guys to fly on days off. Remove a few good flights from the pairings available, publish rosters, then dangle the "open time" carrot long enough and some ass will take it! :rolleyes:

...because ADOPT was designed to work with the correct amount of crew needed to operate flights. What has and probably still is happening is that there were some 20-30 ghosted pilots in the allocations, when the system finally spits out the roster those ghosted pilots (ie guys that don't exist) have their flights dumped into open time. Usually good layovers..... which is why when you are on reserve you get a great long line of trips, more than often layovers.:D
