I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but my best buddy got divorced a couple of years back, it cost him everything so he eventually declared himself Bankrupt about 22 months ago (in the UK)

He's now getting back on his feet and wants to train for his ATPL, he asked me can he get a job with an airline if he has been declared bankrupt? 'Good question' is what I said 'but I have no idea I will see if I can get an answer for you...'

Does anyone know if he will have problems?

Regards

There is no problem with working in an airline if you are bankrupt. I have known several who have worked in airlines. Obtaining credit to pay for training may be a different matter.

It would help if I could spell 'Your' in the title :)

Many thanks, I myself thought it might cause him problems with airline bonds etc. or how can an airline pay you if you don't have a bank account? However thanks for the info gents :)

Probably wouldn't help if he could spell "your" as the word is actually "you're" as an abbreviation of "you are".

Might want to sort your own grammar before being a smart a*se and picking faults with others.

Hmmm, well, as with many things in aircarrier flying, it 'depends'.
I know of a couple of companies that, all other things considered, might well bypass the guy (or gal) that declared bankruptcy, as somehow indicating that the individual is not responsible, hence not reasonable for employment.

No particular rational reason, just the way it sometimes is...:ugh:

More advanced companies put these folks in the sim (or airplane) and see just how they can actually fly...much better idea, it seems to me.

Mr Spurr, if you look again at the thread starter you will see it is Mr Coded.
It would appear then, that he was pointing out his own typo before some one else did. I think the next round of drinks is on you. Make mine a half, I'm on standby! :ok:

Great, first your friend gets taken to the cleaners by his -ex, then he will get ripped off a flight school and finally he will get totally robbed blind by the airlines paying for a type rating in prder to get that first job!

Be a real friend and advice him to become a lawyer instead! ;)
