Just wondering if any of you knew why all of Cathay's flights to London on Fri 9 June seemed to incur a delay of an hour or more?
Unfortunate coincidence?
Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks.

Friday 9th. Severe weather warnings and airport lightning warnings on and off all day long.
When the lightning and severe weather warnings are active all ground based activity ceases.
That may be the reason for delays ex HKG.

Severe thunderstorms delayed all flights in/out of HK.

30% of the average June rainfall happened in about 6hrs yesterday.

The airways through Mainland China limited. Once the storms cleared everyone wanted to go at once.....most therefore incured further delays.

We waited in the cockpit 4hrs before we could get fuel (lightning restricted refuelling ops)

No statistics are out yet from the Airport Authority about diversions etc
