I am a private pilot and plan to do some hour building next week in Namibia.

If anyone could give any hints and suggestions for

- scenic spots
- hire & fly
- airfields without landing fees
- flight maps as an electronic file

and such alike, I would be very grateful!

Not much help to you at the moment but consider doing some touring around Australia - and we don't have things that eat you (apart from crocodiles) and the flying is still kind of cheap (from about $90 per hour).

Rules and regs aren't too bad (but have got a bit worse in recent times).

PM if you want some advice.

- and good luck in Namibia!

Very easy Macao
I did the same many years ago.
I accept that you have a PPl.
Your first visit would be to Windhoek flight training centre at Eros Airport. They will arrange for a Validation of your licence. You will write an easy airlaw exam, multiple choice. Then a short radio licence refresher basically to see if you can speak an acceptable level of english along with radio procedures.
They will then check you out on one of their aircraft and you will be ready to go.At the most this will take 3 to 4 working days.
Most lodge strips do not have a landing fee.The route you take will depend on the refueling points. Some lodges also have their own fuel.
There are many scenic routes and it is very pleasant to overnight at most.
you are in for a great time you lucky fish.
Send me a pm for more advise.
greetings
