I'm suprised that there has been no mention of C47 N47FK and its journey from Lelystad (Holland) to Orange County, CA

If I remember correctly this aircraft was based at North Weald for a long time in the past.

Anyway, I was lucky enough to catch her transiting through Colorado last month - here are some photos.

arriving on 20 May (http://www.skippyscage.com/aviation/fifikate/index.php)

departing on 21st (http://www.skippyscage.com/aviation/fifikate/fifikateph02.php)

Aahh, so Tony finally found a buyer for Fifi Kate.

She has been parked at the Aviodrome in Lelystad Holland for the last several years.

I flew her from Lelystad to Valkneberg in the early summer of 2005 for an annual inspection, great flying bird and who ever bought her has a great performing DC3.

Is it at all likely this ship was at Wright-Patterson AFB on 28 April delivering a couple of paratroops D-Day style? :)

Barit,

not a chance - it did not leave Lelystadt until 15th May.

Fifi Kate also spent a couple of years at Lee-on-Solent before going to Leleystadt in 2004 where I was one of the volunteers who helped with the painting / cleaning etc.
