After having a close look on the apron a few days back, I found it very interesting to notice that (apparently), Engines #2&3 on this bird are bigger than Engines #1&4.

Are there any 600 Bus Drivers outhere that can confirm this, as well as the reason..:confused:

Or is this simply an Optical Illusion possibly created due to the fact that the Engine Cowlings/Shrouds are not shaped exactly the same (or maybe I just had a very long day)?

I think you might of seen right: there was talk of different size engines at Airbus - they offer different sizes on the A340-400 as well - a fuel saving thing.

The A340-600 are fitted with 4 Rolls Royce Trent 500 engines, i.e. an optical illusion as pointed out by Capt tired.

So it is - was just a bit confused as I do rememember reading an article that there where ideas of actually doing this at Airbus (making the outer two engines smaller). If I find that article I will post the source.
