It's a pleasure to see the closest anything to do with Emirates at the moment is eighth from the top of the Middle East Forum. Just goes to show there are others out there with something to say;)
Or possibly is it because we are all working so ****ing hard and can't check our mail?:ugh:

You would never believe that Emirates have their own private forum on Prune. They prefer to wash their laundry where they can bore the rest of us with non-stop whining.

Hey Jack,

As an interested observer in all things middle east, it seems to me that the "dirty laundry" as you so elequently referred to on your post, is more to do with certain EK interest groups attempting to have an impact on the terms and conditions they are working under.

This I understand, is because the majority of the posters are expatriot pilots that work in a country where (as opposed to most western countries) there is no real ability for either representation or arbitration.

The feel I get for these guys is that they have exhausted all legitimate avenues for appeal, still feel loyalty to the company they work for, are frustrated by the direction management are taking over certain issues and are venting their collective fury to the world.

Brabazon et al,

Just a question!

Are you guys worried at all posting negative comments ( not singling you out, just the general feeling I get of the majority of posts here regarding EK), in regards to the fact that you live in a country that is very controlled?

By that I mean that the telecommunications company that you use for your internet connection, owned by the family who run the country, is probably managed by the cousin of the man who manages the airline!

I don't know much about all this modern computer internet IP thingamijiggy, but if the moderator for the middle east forum can figure out that BM is TG, then I sort of reckon that EK could probably discover the geographical address of anyone that posts in the emirates.

Or is it just me being paranoid?

Dear 4hp and others...:)

Jack bauer is always having bad days. Of course he has got time to write in PPrune. He is a great pilot in GF and I don't think he got the profile for EK:E

For better or worse, remember guys that EK are still the best airline (package) paymasters around the the Middle East (GCCs). What comes in the future won't be any better for the obvious reasons and everybody knows about. There are a lot "drivers" worldwide giving it all (many very honest and humble guys) for bigger and bigger jets with very few hours, i.e. South Africans and others where jobs opportunities (and consequently money) are very few. They'll do anything to get to "that" seat. These guys are no wannabe DECs...
Set your personal/professional targets and try to move on when your paymaster is no longer of help to you.
I remind you that this is NOT a statement of support for EK management. They (and the other airline management teams) will one day find out the hard way... but I believe you may not wish to be part of it.
Keep discovering until you find better!!!
