Hi
just wondering if you get a job with a middle east airline and ur not rated on their aircraft do they pay for you to get your type rating? and where is this done? do all airlines have their own simulators?
what airlines in that region dont pay and require you to be type rated?

Emirates do not require you to be type rated. You don't pay for the type conversion but you are bonded for US$36000 over 3 years, which reduces pro-rata ( $1000 per month). They use their own simulators.

None of the established carriers in the ME have gone the "Pay for rating" route. Can't say for sure WRT Air Arabia, but I think they were only looking for type rated and experienced crew initially.

Hi

EY hires A320 guys and use EK sims for A320 to A330 training. Guys are bonded USD 50000 ( yes the numer of 0s is right....) over 5 years for a poor in-house training, and they have to travel every training day from AUH to DXB for 15 days , and everybody on the sand pit knows that it's a nightmare , especially at peak hours with a half asleep driver ( between 3 and 5 hours drive daily !!!!:\ )...............

Otherwise, EY is not hiring non rated pilots, except B767 or B747-400 for B777, and they do the training in Seatle.
