Well why not tell us the questions asked and how you answered them. Maybe someone may be able to notice something wrong!

Hi Guys,
I emailed them in March to see if they were still recruiting and they said they were, I sent my C.V off that afternoon to be sent a letter a few days later saying they were no longer recruiting (odd) but would call me when they were next holding an assessment, which was fine.
Last week I received further correspondance in the form of a rejection letter. I emailed to ask what was going on as I had be sent a letter stating I would be contacted about an assessment day and then another one a few months later stating I would not be put forward for an assessment. They were very lovely and apologised for the mix up , my C.V. had been seen by two different recruiters and both had come up with two different decisions. I thought it was quite funny really:O
They seem very nice and friendly people at BMED, I look forward to an assessment in the future, with them. I realise that these things can happen.

Don't worry if you've been declined. Its a blessing in disguise.
They are only looking for people that have had a frontal lobotomy------It's the way forward ;) .

I'm also very suspicious of people being so keen to be employed by Bmed. Some think it's a way into BA........

However, If you do feel empowered to re-apply, that's your decision :ugh:

I sent off my cv a few months ago to be told unfortunately BMED isn't recruiting. Two days later got an email asking for my postal adrress and then had a letter through the post the next day inviting me for an assessment a week later.

Went to the interview thinking I'm not really fussed but would like to see what its about.

Showed us a video of what its like to work for BMED with amazing photos and videos of the destinations, that the crew had all supposedly taken. I must admit my opinion changed immediately.

Left a great job, started working for BMED and boy oh boy, biggest mistake I ever made.

Destinations are really something to think about. I've been at BMED for approx 10 months and I'm not enjoying it at all. Some people really enjoy it, how is very unclear to me but I think if you were considering BMED think long and hard.

Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking the company it has really positive points but it's just not for me.

And I know what most will say... If you don't like it get out and thus I am starting at BA in 3 weeks time and cannot wait.:)

Same goes for GB. Iv a friend working for them who goes around telling people he works for BA. I recently took him away on a trip with me (Im BA) and he told my colleagues that he was on LGW Eurofleet. I did warn him that mis representing himself like that could get him into trouble but I guess its in one ear out the other. Otherwise hes a nice guy though!!! :\

Please don't misunderstand. It is a great company in it's own right and many of the crew think it's the best thing since sliced cheese however it is just not for me.

Generally the trips very from 30 hours up to 7 days. Most of the trips though are very short and you literally get there, sleep, wake yourself up for a few hours so that you can sleep again so that you won't be shattered on the way back. The check in times for the return journeys are always between midnight and 2am gmt. It's ok if you do one or 2 of them but then you get to do back to backs where you go for a whole week without sleeping properly etc. etc. I know jet lag, tiredness, fatigue etc. etc. comes with the job but sometimes I get my roster and I dread the next month.

The longer trips are generally 5 days and you'd have a shuttle, that stretches over 2 days so even on a 5 day trip you only have one day where you can actually do something other than work. There are also 4 day trips with shuttles so you literally work, sleep, work, sleep, work and then drive home. Which in my eyes defeat the whole point of flying. If I wanted to do that I could get 9-5 and actually get proper rest in between work days.

I appreciate the fact that the company has to do what is best for it but at the same time I have to do whats best for me.

There are a pros and cons to every airline and I guess you just have to decide which airline offers you what you want. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

I hope I don't come accross as being disillussioned or bitter I'm really not. I have had some good times and I'm sure there are alot of BMED crew who might not agree with my views. However everything I have written in this post is factually based and no one can disagree with that.:O

Hey All,
I am ex Bmed too and jumped ship to BA LGWEF. One of the best moves I ever made. Have to say that I did enjoy Bmed for a short time but things were changing anf every trip seemed to have shuttles added on to them. Def made the right move coming to BA even though some people at Bmed thought I was crazy. I don't know what it was about Bmed but it got to the stage where I would almost be in tears driving to work. Not a good sign! Have to say the crew I worked with there were great and I miss some of my course mates but I think most of them have moved on too!

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT APPLYING TO BMED. THE MANAGEMENT TEAM HAVE NOT GOT A CLUE ANY MORE. THEY ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT TRIPS THEY CAN GO ON AND HAVE A JOLLY WHILST KNOWING THAT THE REST OF THE GUYS ARE TRYING TO SLEEP OR AT LEAST GET SOME REST!!!
THE WORKING HOURS IN WHICH THE FLIGHT DECK AND CREW DO ARE SO UNSOCIABLE THAT THE MANAGEMENT TEAM WOULD NOT LAST A MONTH DOING IT!!! THEY DON'T APPRECIATE THE HARD WORK THE CREW DO, SO DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME APPLYING!:=

I suggest that you don't apply to this company due to the recent bombs in Beirut. Do you really want to join a company and fly and stay in destinations where bombs are a threat? It could be you so please do think strongly before applying, go apply to BA mainline they are still looking for crew:)

I tried BA LGW too... they rejected my application. Apparently I'm not meant to be cabin crew. *sighs*

You mean work for an airline that fly to places like NYC (September 11th attacks), Washington DC (September 11th attacks), Istanbul (HSBC Bank bombing), Madrid (Subway Bombing), London (Subway bombing), Islamabad (Bombings and attacks on western people are regular), Bombay (The train bombings the other evening), Tokyo (Anthrax attack in subway), Cairo (attacks and murdering of tourists at Giza a few years ago), Dar Es Salaam (Embassy bombings 98) and Nairobi (Embassy Bombings 98). These are only a few examples that I can think of. My point is every where we go these days has some level of terrorist threat about it.

The scary thing about Beirut is that its NOT TERRORIST...ITS ISREAL deliberatly bombing targets in Beirut which is WRONG WRONG WRONG. And remember, BA fly to TLV, I sure as hell would not want to be scheduled a trip there any time soon.

Bmed will look after its crew very well. Lets not over react or look at BA through rose tinted glasses!!!

I'm an ex-Bmed employee, was there for many years, had a great time even if the destinations weren't the most desirable to most people but it's what you make of it at the end of the day.

BEY is a fab destination, I used to love it there. Trust me, Bmed won't send their crew anywhere where's there's deemed dangerous. I agree with apaddyinuk's last comment, well said.

At the end of the day, we're all adults and have the freedom to choose to apply for whichever airline we want to, it should be an informed decision that you make based on what works for you as an individual. I also used to work for BA, so I know about certain aspects of working for them aswell.

I did BMED along with a few charters and am now at Mainline EF LHR.

I left B-MED because I had issues with some of the management. Fair does, my call, i moved on. I wouldn't say "they are the worst airline to work for in the world, ever." I think people are getting a little over the top. For example, I'm sure people would prefer to work for BMED rather than, say, IranAir, Ariana, Kras Air, you get the point the list goes on and on.

Every airline has its problems. BMED - a few people more concerned about their own careers and not "the bigger picture". Can lead to some frustrating situations.

BA however aint all that, as they say. I'm glad I was offered the job, I'm glad I left BMED, my time was up, I'm glad I took BA. But Ladies and Gents, it isnt the Utopia people seem to make it out to be. - People here really really don't care. For example we have people that have been here far far too long. Job share don't care is a phrase i hear to often. CSDs saying "I'm here to make money sweety, not friends". BA can be lonely, you have an idea, and no-one cares. However this is good as no-one actually knows you either...... room parties!

All I want to say guys is this - enjoy wherever you are. Airlines by their nature change or dissapear overnight - enjoy it whilst you can!
