I am hearing rumours FJE will soon be moving the NCL based aircraft down to LGW/MAN due to a problem with another 757. Furthermore, it was said that Finnair are bringing another a/c in to cover the routes - does anyone have any info?

What will happen to the crews? My partner flies as c/c for FJE out of NCL and they have heard the same.

They'll presumably just lease the aircraft itself, so the crews etc will stay the same and just op the Finnair a/c instead of a Flyjet one

They are unable to operate on the Finnair due to the Finnish AOC requiring extensive training. Flyjet are unable to release the entire crew base for the required 3 weeks in Helsinki so it looks as though they will be getting shipped to MAN/LGW - not good news. Excel crews apparently had an entire month of training prior to there a/c being delivered - I was thinking perhaps they may take the routes back as FJE are flying for XLA and all the crews can operate on the Finnish AOC.

I wonder what the nature of the problem actually is :bored:

Ah well, didn't know that, you learn something new everyday!

As for the nature of the problem, well the blame must lie with the B762, which I believe should be operating some flights. Maybe the NCL B752 has been nicked to cover that, with the other B752 operating it's planned flights ?

Apparently the 767 is having problems with its license - how true that is I don't know. That a/c was supposed to be flying for 'Fly First Class' (whoever they are!) so it would seem the 757 will cover all that.

Poor old Excel - last year it was Scandic now FJE may be dropping them in the trouble!

excel's crew's did not go to helsinki to train for the finnair 757 all training was done in ncl and the training was just short of 2 weeks as they only had to do sop's as all service and medical is done to xla's standard. i would doubt if xla have enough crew to operate a second 757 for fje as are also crewing a 737-400 out of ncl. not a good start to the new fje base if the rumours are true that is:rolleyes:

Sorry to disapoint you all but EA IS GOING NOWHERE.The NCL contract is going extremely well with excellent OTP and passenger satisfaction. There are no plans to relocate the a/c to any of the other 2 bases and I should know.

What a stupid rumour. NCL Pilot, do you just open your mouth and let what ever is bouncing around your brain spill out. Why would Flyjet get rid of the only aircraft that is working a full programme and running at over 90% on time performance? These rumours just spook the people that work in the company for no reason.

Joe Havana,

I am not debating FJE have had an excellent start to the season at NCL but I have heard this from three seperate parties - all of whom have direct links/contracts with FJE. The OTP has no relevance to the a/c availability im afraid.

My point is merely that the FJE crews will simply be flying on a Finnair unit instead.

Isnt this Pprune after all?

Read my lips , THIS IS TOTAL RUBBISH !!!!!!!!!!

There is no truth to this what so ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never mind your "sources", Envoyheadboy and myself can assure you your rumour is totally unfounded. If you wish to speak to me further in private I will be happy to do so.

In the mean time please restrict your imagination. You must realise what damage your completely untrue rumour can do.

What do you mean..." Isn't this Pprune after all?" Don't you realise that irresponsible posting on such a widely read website such as Pprune can be damaging to the airline concerned and demoralising to the staff that work there. The rumours that you are spreading are utterly without foundation. I would ask that you provide your contact details, and that of your sources to me by private message so that I might explain the situation to you directly without causing further harm to the reputation of Flyjet.

If your intention is to defame Flyjet through your libellous comments because of some past personal grievance, you should seriously think again.

Dont understand why they would move FJEA? why not just use the replacement aircraft where it's needed and leave NCL alone, seems needless to upset more bases than necessary. My understanding is the XLA cabin crew needed quite a bit of training before they were allowed on the Finnair 757.

My cynical side suggests that one does get quite a bit more exposure by needlessly starting up a new thread. This topic should have started off on NEWCASTLE 2 from the start.

Wow
Touchy touchy or what. The reactionary invective from Joe Havana and Hoey50 seems overly protective and can only serve to convince the readers that perhaps there is something to this after all.
I think NCLpilot is quite entitled to ask a question about rumours he's heard from three independent sources and whilst the doyens of FJE are entitled to refute they are not entitled to threaten.
As they say; no smoke without fire. :=

Apart from a Paphos the other week, FlyJet have been having a great start to the season at NCL.

Not sure about your notion of FJE starting up a rumour to create exposure for themselves. Bit like the fire brigade starting fires.
However something is not right here. I am startled at the ferocity of 2 posts and I have been wondering why. Nclpilot seems to have touched on something extremely sensitive and I think the key is the B767 :\
I've looked at two web sites for Flyfirst class and one announces a delayed start (subject to final government approvals) third quater 2006 and the other winter 2006.
Munich airlines which will start with FJE 767 will start this June but it's only one rotation a week. Furthermore rumour has it that the aircraft is AOG pending the issue of a C of A.
So the pressure must be on for FRE executives:
1) The aircraft cant earn any money and I dont know how long it will be AOG for.
2) The CPG would appear to be unimpressed with Flyfirst Class FJE BDA set up.
3) they've only got one flight a week for the B767. What are they going to do for the rest of the week?

I wonder which airline the 2nd finnair 757 will operate for then, when it arrives!:ok:

Suggest the MODS put this in the NCL thread, as its another one of those "Yes they are, no there not" playground type arguments.

Playground  how apt. It's they're or they are not there, Sir.
Let's leave it where it is. This discussion has nothing to do with NCL airport.
