My prediction: Something to with the NAS and lack of E Airspace and Airservices Australia
Something about radar coverage and ADS-B.
Nothing to do with the robustness of CASA Surveillance and/or powers.
I await the "Press Releases".

OK - hard hat: ON.

(also something to do with posting anonymously?)

There are some interesting statements in the BASI report that should be remembered the next time YKW starts banging on about the NAS and E airspace:

(from the ATSB report:)

Considering the area for which he was responsible, it was reasonable
that the radar scale should be set at either the default range or at the 290 NM range.
At either scale, the shape of the aircraft’s track was similar, but slightly offset, to
that of the instrument approach procedure.

The extent of that displacement on the
display was unlikely to have been sufficient to alert the controller. Consequently,
unless otherwise alerted, the controller would not have recognised that the aircraft
was not tracking in accordance with the prescribed instrument approach procedure.

I do not expect to hear or see of any apologies for the inflammatory statements made last year.
