Hi All!!

Just wondered if anybody would tell me some information on Netjets europe. I am looking to apply to them and wondered what rosters, salary, uniform, fleet and the interview, training process is like?

Thanks for your help,

Ian J.

The rosters are an 18 day a month cycle and the uniform is the usual business style outfit. Bear in mind that you don't get the normal staff travel perks of the larger carriers like BA,LH,AF,AA etc...

I did a bit of freelance corporate flying, it was kinda fun and good to see something outside the sterile environment. The operator I flew with was 3 jets owned by a family company... It wasn't even organised like NetJets, I'd order the catering, get the plane cleanec, get the loos dumped and all the other most glamorous jobs. It was really different to my 'day job' where I'd get on with 14 other crew, the catering would be there, the cabin would be clean(-ish!) and everything would be ready to go but I loved every minute!

The difference between having 400 passengers and 2 or 3 was something that took a long time to get used to. It could get really boring on a long flight if the passengers were sleeping or if they just didn't want anything. The team spirit is much stronger on a smaller aircraft, the pilots were always very kind to me (the said they'd miss the 'good fairy' once I'd put my nylon airline tie back on and left them) and you get to know the crews of the other aircraft... when you pull up on a ramp somewhere you know which bars you'll find them in!

Most of the private airlines like NetJets and PrivatAir wanted previous experience in a commercial carrier with a preference for crew who aso had corporate experience. If you fit those criteria then go for it, I had a ball!

A little more information for you:

The salary starts at €40k. They no longer pay a higher salary for British based crew. The "uniform" has just been changed again, and its not for the better. It is still chocolate brown  for the ladies and the guys are still in the old blue "pilot style" uniform.
The new cabin crew manager is, shall we say, formidable! I'm not sure if she is too keen on recruiting more guys, but give it a go! She likes to wave a big stick rather than encourage the crew! :=
Yes is it organised, but more organised chaos especially in the summer period!
The rosters are a maximum of 18 days a month divided into tours of 6 or 7. On occasion they can go up to 14 days, but these are one-off tours which normally require visas etc, so you would get advanced notice. They are very good in the rostering department as if one month you have a sh** rosta they compensate later on with a great one!:O

Hope that helps!
